The ruins of Hagi CastlePosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 26 November 2006 in Lifestyle & Culture. Hagi was at the forefront of the Meiji Restoration. The castle, built in 1604 and seen as a symbol of the shogunate, was torn down in 1874. The outer walls remain.
