Opening the Oysters

Opening was accomplished with a small sharp hammer-like device.

" To shuck" is the verb normally used when talking about opening oysters, but I've only even seen raw oysers opened (the way we eat Sydney Rock oysters) - I've never seen them roasted! This is an interesting series (yesterday's and including the next of the serving ladies).
