Not that I'm a photographer. However, I met this gentleman on one of my trips to the top of Futabayama. He saw my camera and pointed out a mountain on the skyline behind which the city of Kure lies. When I asked if I could take his picture, he indicated no and pointed down the mountain (Futabayama) and said something I didn't understand. A bit later, I headed down the mountain and heard footsteps behind me. He had followed me and motioned for me to follow him. We walked a little further down and arrived at where he lives and he pulled out some of his photographs to show me. He had pictures of Hokkaido, Onomichi and some nice flower shots. After I looked at his photos, he agreed to be photographed. What a really nice chance encounter.

Well, I have to follow all these comments made before me. All I can say is that I agree totally. Great story and great portrait... and you definitely ARE a photographer, in the real sense of the word!

Beautiful natural light and expression. A branch in the up-left corner for not going out would have been perfect... but even like this it is beautiful.
