World's OldestPosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 8 May 2007 in Lifestyle & Culture. This building, at Horyugi Temple near Nara, is the oldest wooden temple building in the world. Although the exact date of its construction is sketchy, it is around 1,400 years old and has survived fires and earthquakes.
