Todai-ji

Posted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 28 October 2007 in Architecture.

You may remember this structure, the largest wooden building in the world, which houses a large seated bronze Buddha. This building and its images seem to get all the action in terms of visitors.

However, a student told me about the Guardians of the Four Directions who are also at Todai-ji. I set out to find them after asking about them at the main hall without success.
