Kaidan-in

This modest building, west of the Todai-ji main hall, is the home of the Guardians of the Four Directions. The figures, approximately life size, are exquisite. They are made of clay which I found amazing; I would have sworn they were carved from wood. Unfortunately, no photos are allowed inside Kaidan-in.
