Lantern at Katsura Imperial Villa

The imperial villas are away from the Kyoto city center so you must decide how to get to them. Buses are an obvious option. I found that taking the subway as far as possible was much quicker. To get to this villa, I took the subway from Kyoto Station, switched to a train for a brief ride and then walked about 15 minutes. This was still much quicker than a bus from Kyoto Station. Great fun!
