Upward SpiralPosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 13 September 2008 in Architecture. These stairs to the top of the lighthouse are free standing. The brackets bolted to the stairs are not bolted to the walls but press against the walls when weight is present. The landings rest on lips in the walls.
