Upward Spiral

These stairs to the top of the lighthouse are free standing. The brackets bolted to the stairs are not bolted to the walls but press against the walls when weight is present. The landings rest on lips in the walls.

WOW, I love the illusion here Steve because when you look at it at first it looks like a downward spiral, or at least it did to me, wonderful POV and a very creative idea, I love it, well done!

An amazing piece of engineering, from a distance it looks like a huge prehistoric snail shell.

The dizzying effect is pronounced when first looking at this shot! WOW. A fine viewpoint to capture this one.
