I have a huge love for the carvings, statues, and artwork and the beliefs in how each animals is so individually significant to mankind and Mother Earth. Everything has a meaning and a place in this beautiful thing we call life, and perhaps in whatever world we are destined to inhabit after passing from this one. A terrific photograph, Steve 11 Mar 2009 3:41pm JJ from Jersey City, United StatesA great shot of such an interesting carving, carving on site in the forest is a cool idea and so interesting to see 11 Mar 2009 3:54pm Diane Schuller from Hythe, CanadaThat's an amazing work of art you captured. It appears to be in the middle of the forest and made from a tree stump in place. Not sure if that's the case but it sure gives that sense. Well captured. 11 Mar 2009 4:04pm @Diane Schuller: That is the case. Peggy M. from somewhere in, Franceoh ! what a funny place for a salmon ! :) It's an amazing and great shot my friend ! I love the variety of your shots ! 11 Mar 2009 4:06pm mo.langel from Courtelary, SwitzerlandUn poisson dans la forêt! :O) Belle sulpture et superbe image! 11 Mar 2009 4:34pm Monique from Koh Samui, ThailandStrange place for a salmon in the middle of the woods, but maybe there's a stream nearby?! Imagine coming on that out on your walk. 11 Mar 2009 7:17pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesBeautiful carving. Strange that it is out in the middle of the forest. Great find! 11 Mar 2009 8:24pm PD from Overland Park, Kansas, United StatesNice carving and presentation. Seems strange to see this out in the middle of a forest! 11 Mar 2009 10:17pm Pixim from Nice, FranceA photograph full with mystery, with a certain anguish which emerges some. The post-processing is perfect to form this environment ;) 11 Mar 2009 10:53pm Suzanne from Huntington Bch, California, United StatesThis is wild. Was it carved out of a living tree? 11 Mar 2009 11:14pm @Suzanne: I'm not sure if the tree had been damaged, by wind for example, before being carved or not. However, the roots were still in the ground. XaviH from Badalona (almost Barcelona), SpainA very nice B&W developing. And the sculpture is really strange! 12 Mar 2009 12:11am Cricket-Tammy from United StatesGreat processing here. It does seems strange sitting in the middle of nowhere. Were you on a trail? 12 Mar 2009 1:22am @Cricket-Tammy: It was off the trail a bit. |
