Stewart Covered BridgePosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 21 April 2009 in Architecture. Built in 1930, this 60 foot (18.3 meter) bridge of the Howe truss type spans Mosby Creek in Lane County, Oregon, USA. It no longer carries vehicular traffic. Note the graffiti and the sign indicating that video surveillance is in use. So far, this is the only old covered bridge I've found to be thus disrespected. Although as I've mentioned, arsonists have tried to burn the Chambers Railroad Bridge.

I love the B&W. It amazes me that some people have so much disrespect for things and other people that they would vandalize like that! 21 Apr 2009 2:53pm Diane Schuller from Hythe, Canadayes, I noticed the graffiti immediately. I like the angle you took this from. What a great series. I'd expect to see something like this series as a feature in a gallery. 21 Apr 2009 3:05pm observing from North West, United KingdomThey say Size matters..... and this one seems to be a bit short Steve. But still a wonderful impression of the bridge. Next. 21 Apr 2009 4:06pm Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceStrong B&W is a good choice. Of course we can see the graffiti...What's a pitty... may be they could have clean it... and after put under video surveillance... 21 Apr 2009 4:33pm Tatiana from Paris, FranceComposition équilibrée.. on aurait envie de savoir ce qu'il y a derrière, au fond ;) 21 Apr 2009 5:33pm |
