Coyote Creek Covered BridgePosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 28 April 2009 in Architecture and Portfolio. Built in 1922, this 60 foot (18.3 meter) bridge of the Howe truss type spans the Coyote Creek in Lane County, Oregon, USA. It has a 16 ton (14.5 metric ton) load limit. This bridge is also referred to as the Battle Creek Bridge because it's on Battle Creek Road. Historically, it was known as the Swing Log Bridge. Many of the bridges we have seen have numerous names. So, they all have World Guide Numbers assigned. This bridge's number is: 37-20-02. That number will always refer to this bridge. If the bridge is destroyed, the number will be retired. I believe this numbering system is used for all covered bridges in the USA. Part of the Covered Bridges of Oregon series.

Si je puis me permettre Steve, je crois que j'aurais retiré le poteau électrique de droite mais c'est question de goût personnel et n'enlève rien à la qualité de ton image 28 Apr 2009 7:42am Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainI'm happy to see more of these beautiful bridges. It's a great perspective of the shot - did you consider from the other angle as well - it doesn't look like wires would be in the photo if you took this same photo from the other side of the road? 28 Apr 2009 9:42pm dj.tigersprout from New York City, USA, United Stateslovely light in this shot -- nice and bright but very clear too! was this after a fresh rain? 29 Apr 2009 6:36am |
