Bill from Los Altos, United Statessteve, I didn't realize how many beautiful bridges there were - great series you are building here. This one with the color contrast, and detail in the bridge is especially great. well done. 30 Apr 2009 5:15am Jean-François from Les Issambres, Franceso beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 30 Apr 2009 6:40am Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, IndiaI must place your series in a collection Steve! The composition is superb and I simply love the color, ranging from soft muted browns to bright greens and strong rust! Well done! 30 Apr 2009 7:10am MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomAnother fine example, why do they cover bridges in this way? 30 Apr 2009 12:21pm @MaryB: It's all a matter of longevity. The covering protects the trusses and decks from the weather thus prolonging the life of these essential parts. It rains a lot in western Oregon, where these bridges are located, so they would have had to be replaced much more frequently without the covers. Ajay from Pune, IndiaAnother very different angle. I love how these bridges are usually in the remote areas surrounded by jungles. 30 Apr 2009 7:11pm Don from spokane, United StatesA beautiful covered bridge. Gotta plan a trip to Oregon to see some of these first hand! :-) Thanks for sharing them with us. 30 Apr 2009 7:41pm observing from North West, United KingdomI like this shot Steve, I like how the color blends in with the surroundings. Does it cross a river or a stream ? 30 Apr 2009 10:54pm @observing: Yes, it crosses the Yaquina River. Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainI like very much this framing that lets us to appreciate the dimensions and the background of the bridge. Thanks very much. 1 May 2009 5:51am Lou from Calumpit, Philippinesbeautiful! Kinda reminds me of "Bidges of Madison County'. Love the book too. 1 May 2009 4:53pm |
