Ritner Creek Covered Bridge

Built in 1927, this 75 foot (22.3 meter) bridge of the Howe truss type spans Ritner Creek in Polk County, Oregon, USA. It no longer carries vehicular traffic. It was the last covered bridge on an Oregon state highway (as opposed to a road). In 1976, it was moved a short distance from its original location and is now the centerpiece of a tiny park.

Perfect tones and wonderful composition. I'm glad they preserved it, we've lost most of the covered bridges around here.

I think I need to come spend some time in Oregon - every covered bridge you photograph makes me feel like I've stepped back into time - and all for a quieter, more peaceful experience. Well photographed.
