Lost Creek Covered BridgePosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 11 June 2009 in Architecture. Built in 1919, this 39 foot (11.9 meter) bridge of the Queenpost truss type spans Lost Creek in Jackson County, Oregon, USA. This is the shortest covered bridge in Oregon. It carries only pedestrian traffic at this time. A sign on the bridge claims it was built about 1881. The builder of this bridge is known to have roofed the nearby Lake Creek bridge in the 1880s. So, this could be Oregon's oldest covered bridge still standing. However, it was probably partially or completely rebuilt in 1919. Part of the Covered Bridges of Oregon series.

He's hoping to make a trip to see them. This, by far, has to be among one of my personal favourites of this series -- the processing is superb. 13 Jun 2009 8:45pm Ajay from Pune, IndiaThe way you've presented it, it does give a feeling of it's old age. The black and white tone has really settled well with the mood. 14 Jun 2009 4:13am |
