Cavitt Creek Covered BridgePosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 18 July 2009 in Architecture. Built in 1943, this 70 foot (21.3 meter) bridge of the Howe truss type spans the Little River in Douglas County, Oregon, USA. It has a 3 ton (2.7 metric ton) load limit. It is currently closed for repairs. Note the interesting shape of the portals which probably indicates they were modified to allow larger loads. Part of the Covered Bridges of Oregon series.

Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainVery good b/w image of this bridge, and good to see the details of the situation on the water. You are right about the portals. 18 Jul 2009 5:34am Veronique from Sarrouilles, Francevery nice BW and so much different details to look at 18 Jul 2009 9:35am Don from spokane, United StatesI like this bridge view that lets us see the under pinnings along with the interesting bridge. While artistic looking the bridge opening with its low sides has obviously caused a few problems. Excellent image. 18 Jul 2009 1:31pm Judy from Brooksville, Florida, United StatesCONGRATULATIONS on being one of AM3's top American photobloggers! 18 Jul 2009 2:17pm Food from Las Cruces, NM, United StatesAwesome composition! I like the signage on the bridge. If you had a tall or wide thing, there would always be some kind of question you could make it through there... 18 Jul 2009 4:55pm Ana Lúcia from Leiria, PortugalExcellent composition and the B/W works pretty well. 18 Jul 2009 5:12pm Diane Schuller from Hythe, Canadaa fantastic b&w image that also shows part of the interior as well as the supports.
