Heceta Head LighthousePosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 22 July 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. With a tower 56 feet (17.1 meters) tall, this lighthouse is 205 feet (62.5 meters) above the water. The light was first illuminated in 1894. It was automated in 1963 and burns a 1,000 watt quartz bulb. After passing through the first-order British made Fresnel lens, the beam has a power of 2.5 million candlepower. Part of the Oregon Coast series.

Food from Las Cruces, NM, United StatesWow, this is some of your best work yet. The colors are vivid. I love the northwest coast too. I lived on San Juan Island for a summer, and we would go to Lime Kiln Lighthouse to watch the Orcas go by. 22 Jul 2009 5:21am kiji from valenciennes, FranceVery well framed compo.
