Cape Blanco LightPosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 14 August 2009 in Transportation. The 1,000 watt halogen bulb can be seen burning inside the Fresnel lens. The light is on day and night. Should the bulb burn out, the second one will light automatically. The volunteer, on duty when I was there, indicated that the beam focused by the lens has a strength of about 1.1 million candlepower. Part of the Oregon Coast series.
