The Payoff

Posted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 27 August 2009 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

This is an obvious payoff for keeping chickens. However, there must be more to it than that. If I do this next year, I'll ask the people why they keep chickens. What's the psychological reward?

Having grown up on a farm, I can't imagine why city folk would keep chickens. Well, unless they like green eggs and ham.

Great shot.
Maybe the chicken owners are don't like having to walk to the shop. :-)

Cheers,
Glen.

Comparing farm fresh eggs to those in an urban store - it seems the eggs would be their own reward - green or otherwise. And thanks for getting back to me yesterday. I love the Burnside section of Portland, Oregon. You could spend the rest of your life in SE Portland and never be wanting for things to capture.

Green eggs for sure, but I'll pass on the ham. Nice shot. So, why are the eggs a greenish colour?
