Joint EffortPosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 4 September 2009 in Cityscape & Urban. This coop is connected by a wire tunnel to a large run next door in a neighbor's yard. The owner is reflected in the glass. The neighbor also has a coop connected to the run. It was at this site that I didn't hear about any raccoon problems. One of the owners opined that there is so much cat and dog food in the neighborhood that the raccoons have gotten lazy. After all, catching a chicken requires some work. All the other coop owners I talked to had a raccoon story. Tour de Coops, Portland, OR, USA

Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainVery ingeniously done. Great document. It's interesting what you tell about the racoons! 4 Sep 2009 8:24am Bethany from Michigan, United StatesCool chicken coop with an ingenious way of getting the chickens to a pen. Cute story too. 4 Sep 2009 12:14pm Daniel from Kenmare, United Statesdo they live inside the house with the people. 4 Sep 2009 12:17pm Kiki from Ambert, Puy de Dôme, FranceThat is not any more a cage but a palace and almost the freedom... I like that! 4 Sep 2009 12:33pm Don from spokane, United StatesI like their innovative way of protecting pets from anything and everything with the enclosed tunnel. Raccoons are so smart and can be very aggressive. A friend had his dog severely injured recently when a raccoon entered via a pet door to help himself to the food. The dog thought he could tackle anything and incurred $315 in vet bills! 4 Sep 2009 1:14pm Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceThe animal version of the luxury, better than small cage, indeed... :-) 4 Sep 2009 2:32pm hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongVery interesting structure and clever design!:-) Enjoyable story and series!
