Short Covered BridgePosted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 21 September 2009 in Architecture. Built in 1945, this 105 foot (32 meter) bridge of the Howe truss type spans the South Fork of the Santiam River in Linn County, Oregon, USA. It carries vehicular traffic but I could not find the load limit posting. This is the last of the covered bridges on this river. When it was first built, it was called the Whiskey Butte Bridge but was renamed for a long-time local resident, Gordon Short. Part of the Covered Bridges of Oregon series.
