Along Gold Butte Road

This sign seemed to be aimed at discouraging people from making the drive from Mesquite, Nevada out into the desert. It's about 45 miles (72.4 kilometers) on a fairly rough road that becomes a tiny Bureau of Land Management (BLM) road and finally a track in Mud Wash. A high ground clearance vehicle is required and four wheel drive desired (by me anyway). Be sure you have good tires, a shovel, water, etc.
Primitive and remote best describe this area. Although it's on federal land, Devil's Fire is not a park or monument. Therefore, there are no facilities or services of any kind including toilets and no fees.

@Mooie: Of course, I drove it (see yesterday's introductory photo). We are now doing a flashback to the beginning of the story like in the movies. ;-) I'll let you decide if it was worth it. Stay tuned.
