Mormon Tea

This is a female plant with seed pods. I hadn't seen this before. This plant is in the genus Ephedra, a stimulant. Mormon pioneers made tea from it. This drug only came under federal Food and Drug Administration control in 2004. According to Wikipedia, Senator Orin Hatch, from Utah, had blocked earlier attempts to regulate it.
