Perched

Posted by
Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 4 November 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

This lady was perched on Devil's Bridge while her fiancee and parents shot pictures of her for a wedding announcement. I took a few shots too.

Part of the Devil's Bridge series.

My Spotlighted Images

I'll be busy the next few weeks. Commenting will be spotty at best.

She's found a fine spot with some "safe" area around her. I like the light color of the rock surface with the deeper green areas on either side. Nice one.

A bit to close to the edge for me Steve, but it's without doubt a perfect mono image.

.. what a scene .. what a composition.. perfect in B/W .. it took my eyes a few seconds to discern the foreground bridge from background trees .. seems like an illusion of some sort -- very effective . love this.

"Authorities turn their attention to the bride's recent binge on Halloween candy in the untimely collapse of Devil's Bridge."
You sure have been running into some daring people when it comes to ledges. As daring as it seems, this is one awesome capture where there is such a large void of open space around this bride-to-be, particularly when you see how small she is in comparison to how large the trees are below.

Voyeur. Hahaha! Joking aside, this is a really good shot. Somehow the BW choice gives it a timeless feel, too. Kudos to you.

A very cool shot with a vintage feel. I really like the black and white, and this feels like it could be something from the 1950's. Nice!

I like the sense of scale... strange, she seems like a giant! My mind tells me the surroundings are much larger scale than they really are.
