20 Jul 2010 7:56am

✿ Anina ✿ from Auckland, New Zealand

Echo Daryl's comment! Just add a cowboy on horseback and you're sorted. A wonderful shot. I'm always amazed at the clouds in your shots - it's beautiful

Florence from Paris, France

I agree with the former comment. A real cinematographic quality here. I'm on the setting of The Grapes Of Wrath. Steinbeck would have loved it. As well as Ansel Adams. 5 stars for me.
Thanks for your sweet comment Steve, you're a gentleman. :-)

20 Jul 2010 1:15pm

Amanda from Jersey City, United States

I would have thought this was taken several decades ago if that Jeep weren't hiding in the back! Did you go inside this building or is it too unstable?

20 Jul 2010 1:36pm

@Amanda: It seemed to be tightly boarded up so, I didn't try to go inside. Plus, it looks like a good place to harbor creepy crawlers.

♏arleen from Doesburg, Netherlands

Magnificent shot and indeed a spooky atmosphere.....:-0

20 Jul 2010 1:51pm

alex centrella from California, United States

cool capture !

20 Jul 2010 2:50pm

Don from spokane, United States

A fine old building under that marvelous cloudy sky. You handled the harsh overhead lighting of the place very well. Looks like it could be a fine movie set.

20 Jul 2010 3:17pm

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Great monochromatic processing here which also brings out the detail seen in the clapboard siding of the building.

20 Jul 2010 3:26pm

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

I love it! This is the kind of place I wanted to find out there in AZ or NM. But while Jerome is a "ghost town" it is also a tourist destination and doesn't seem to have this kind of feel. Great photo! 5 stars!

20 Jul 2010 3:32pm

@Viewfinder: I agree. Jerome is a fun place but has too many people and too few ghosts.

Irene from L C, France

Beautiful monochrome. Outstanding !

20 Jul 2010 6:47pm

Philip from South Wales, United Kingdom

This is a great series and there are some splendid captures. This is one of the best in my view. It is like a scene from a western (apart from the Jeep at the back!) movie.
