Inspired by Plains Indian Lore

Posted by
Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 24 August 2010 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

The inscription on the buffalo:

Arise with the dawn
Bathe in the morning sun
Sleep when the birds no longer fly
Awake when the first faint dawn appears

It seems that bit of lore makes an excellent piece of advice for the landscape photographer.

in French we say : l'avenir appartient aux gens qui se lèvent tôt. It's less poetic. I prefer the Indian sentence and your white balance is excellent

A bit more darkening would probably bring it more detail of the inscription.

Your B&W processing brings out some interesting "marbling" in the wall. I like the last line as these latest days of the season have been harder to wake when the sun still isn't up yet. ;-)
