Peabody Cabin

Posted by
Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 24 November 2010 in Documentary & Street.

This is the oldest structure still standing in Monte Cristo. It is located on Dumas Street, the main street of the town. As you will see tomorrow, it is only just still standing. A sign refers to it as a garage and another document calls it a cabin. It looks like a cabin to me. I couldn't find an exact age but, there seems to have been a wave of building in the 1910-20 period.

The shadow play on this little cabin is fantastic! Love the way you've put this building in the spotlight!

The shadows are wonderful as they paint a mirrored black and white version of the eye sees looking straight into the photo. Nice shot Steve.

The light and shadows really turns this into a work of art. Beautiful colors work well
with the amazing light. Magnificent.

Moving how it seems on the verge of collapsing. And your light is so beautiful it is as if it was the reason why 'the cabin' still stands still...
