Built in 1900, the dam created the rain fed reservoir in yesterday's photo. The water was used for cattle. Now, it's a source of water for the park's birds and animals.

My cancer has returned after almost a year of being symptom free. For the next few weeks, I have many doctor appointments and tests to determine and begin the advanced treatment best for my situation. My commenting will be intermittent at best.
@PD: It's not that big being in a fairly narrow gap in the rocks. The interesting thing to me is how thin it is, just a few inches, to be holding back a fairly large amount of water. Perhaps that interesting shape adds to its strength.
