Dedication of the Chambers Railroad Bridge

Posted by
Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 2 February 2012 in Architecture.

My son and I made it down to the dedication of the rebuilt bridge. It was a cold and dark December day and a long drive. However, it was good to see the bridge being opened for use even though the roofing material had not yet arrived. Another photographer said he asked about it. Apparently, the roof will be a metal one and was on the way from Pennsylvania. I'll get down there again one day when the roof is on.

Part of the Covered Bridges of Oregon series.

A beautiful event to see, looks like there were a lot of people showing
up for the event, something great to see when they open something as
big as this bridge is. Great photo, looks like lots of refreshments also.

What a beautiful bridge and composition ehre, Steve. If you can determine where, in PA, the roofing material is coming from, I can perhaps pay them a visit and do a little bit of Expediting for you ;-) I was unaware of your son on AM3 and so I clicked on the link to his site and have only now been able to close my mouth as it was wide open while I scrolled through his portfolio and credits - wow...Like father like son, this fantastic talent rolls...Just wonderful both of you. Thanks Steve! All the best sir!
