Further along Frijoles Creek, you come to this place high up on the canyon wall. Let your eye follow the ladders and people up to that dark hole. That's where we are headed.

I don't know where I have been, Steve - I can't believe I have missed so many of your images - Longhouse I, Petroglyphs, Longhouse 2 etc...They are really fantastic...This one is magnificent and I am still wondering if I would or could make it up those ladders - not so much the physicak but the mental...I guess I will have to make the decision when we go. I know Mrs J probably would not do it so I may have to go it alone. This is a beautiful site though. What a trasure this place is!! Wonderful shots, Steve :-) SOrry I missed you..All I can blame it on is work! :-)

27 Feb 2013 8:53pm

@Denny Jump Photo: My wife sat on a log by Frijoles Creek while I was up there.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

I think you'd have to be pretty much trim and in great shape to live up there. Modern folk would demand elevators or escalators, at least. Haha.

27 Feb 2013 9:19pm

Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United States

Yah, I think, for me, it would be the "descent" that would get me ...the "ascent" probaby I could do :-) After 65 years of living including a combat tour in Vietnam, I would hate to "check out" by having a dizzy spell on a ladder and falling 300 feet to the bottom :-)

27 Feb 2013 9:32pm

Phil Morris from Saskatoon, Toronto, Canada

Wonder if the people that lived there invented ladders !~

Despite it looking pretty scary, I'd like to try it out one day though...and one must be grateful they have those ladder things ! it's better than attempting to get up there without them!
