Twin Arrows

Posted by
Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 15 February 2014 in Business & Industry and Portfolio.

Further down the road, I couldn't resist these arrows and had to stand on a freeway offramp to get the shot. Luckily, it wasn't heavily used. I wondered why the gas station, cafe, and shop had closed being just off Interstate Highway 40. A short distance further west, I got my answer. On the other side of the highway, I saw a huge casino, Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort. It had just opened in May of 2013. All the action was now on the other side of the highway.

Ah a touch of the changing times and fortunes. here for sure - which I suppose the whole Route is all about. The toning here sure helps deliver the message.

What a classic! I love this one, Steve! The scene, here, is just so evocative of old kitschy stuff now laid to waste (in a symbolic sense, anyway :-) Now the "action" truly is somewhere else. I am so glad that you captured this one. And thank you So Very Much, Steve, for your kind and wonderful comments to me as my blog seems to roll along on some kind of twisted "automatic." It kills me that I am not able to respond or visit much right now. To me, THAT is what this blog is all about...Hopefully, that will return for me...In the meantime, I truly want to thank you and please know I am out here visiting :-

Gosh what effort went in to the production of these things! Something I really think Japan has in common with the US, from what I've observed.

Superbly graphic, and once again, the foreground's portion is exactly calculated. The graphics of the floor lamps on the left add their verticality to the oblique of the arrows.
