What a great location for this towering building. It's a beautiful structure and in pretty good shape after 700 years.

fascinating location indeed, with a commanding view of the valley. i marvel at the ship-shape condition of the stonework here!
if you ever come to greece, be sure to visit the meteora moasteries (or look them up on the internet) - you'll find very similar buildings in similar locations !

I can see why this site was chosen. It would be extra safe from attack compared to many of the other buildings. A fine image of the tall tower.
