Sky Tree Panorama

Posted by
Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 18 March 2016 in Cityscape & Urban.

I had to try a panorama even though tripods aren't allowed. Also, I had to move from window to window to avoid the window frames. I fed my stitching software ten frames and this came out the other end. A larger version is here. Be sure to click the image to enlarge it. The Tokyo Gate Bridge is on the left and the Tokyo Tower is poking above the horizon on the right of the frame.

It is a huge city. Its population is more than two times higher than in Finland 5.4 million people .. picture gives a good idea of how big the city is Tokyo.

Incredible achievement with this panorama shot!! The Flickr photo is amazing with its large size. Again, the colors (as small as they are) really "pop" in this composition!

Mind boggling, Franz ----- I just can not believe, people live there all their live .......

Herzlichen Gruss ----- Monika

franz from Baden, Austria

absolutely fascinating view, and a great pano! may i ask what software you use for stitching?

19 Mar 2016 4:54pm

@franz: It's called Autopano Pro 4.0. I started using it at version 3 and have been pretty happy with it. I have exceeded it's ability to maintain straight lines once as you will see in an upcoming image. But, that's my problem with my insistence on capturing extremely wide arcs.

Daryl Johnson from Worcester Park, United Kingdom

Fantastic job. Amazing detail.
