While standing near one of these lotus sculptures, a Japanese man asked me where I was from. I told him and he responded that Japanese people like Americans because they know what we think. He went on to say that they don't like the British as well because they never know what they are thinking.
After considering this for a while, I think he must be implying the British are more diplomatic than Americans. That's probably true. At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;-)
