The Trail to Spectra Point

Posted by
Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 3 March 2017 in Landscape & Rural.

I wanted to check out Spectra Point as a possible sunset spot. The trail follows the rim of the amphitheater. It's a mile (1.6 kilometers) to the point and another mile to the Rampart Overlook which is the end of the trail. The trail passes near the water tank. I don't know what the two spheres are in the distance. They look like radomes to me.

Don from Spokane, United States

A fine shot that captures the enormous look of the landscape. It looks like it would be a dangerous path around this huge amphitheater.

3 Mar 2017 4:15pm

@Don: The trail gets pretty close to the edge in a couple of places. I wouldn't want to walk it in the dark.
