Wind God Bird

The Giant Condor, Aiolornis incredibilis, lived in the area 3.5 million years ago. Fossils show the wingspan was 16 feet (5 meters) and the bird had a huge, powerful beak. It is estimated to have weighed 51 pounds (23 kilograms).

@fateme@@: These plants are Ocotillo. I find them quite fascinating, too. They only grow leaves and bloom if there has been sufficient rain. If it's too dry, they drop their leaves to conserve water.
