About one year ago, I saw a small item on television news about the desert bloom being very good. I didn't catch what area was being referred to however. So, I Googled desert wild flowers and up popped Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in southern California. I checked a map and saw it was fairly close to the Salton Sea which I had wanted to see for a while. So, I got my gear together and off I went.
Here, Sand Verbena are being whipped by the morning breeze along a road in Borrego Springs. The huge park surrounds the small town of Borrego Springs. On one side of a road, you may be in the park and on the other in the town.
