Water Please!

Posted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 20 July 2018 in Landscape & Rural.

The water tower was constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Water was pumped up into the tower and piped to the picnic area. However, the water proved to be so alkaline that the well was capped and the system abandoned.

Bad thing. Water is the most important condition for living.

Damage to have abandoned the system of water distribution because in these places the heat is sometimes overwhelming and the walkers had to appreciate this water source

I like the tones and textures. My Dad was part of the CCC - he helped build Oak Ridge TN TVA facility.

It looks like an abandoned ancient outpost of sorts. Interesting bit of history and very well presented.
