A Step Back in Time

Posted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 23 July 2018 in Landscape & Rural.

Many images I post deal with geologic time. This time we are only looking back to the latter part of the 1800s. We are visiting Pipe Spring National Monument located in the Arizona Strip. The Arizona Strip is the land north of the Grand Canyon and which even now has limited access to the rest of the state. It has much easier access to the states of Utah and Nevada.

A great view through this inviting gateway and path!! I definitely wouldn't mind taking a step back in time when things were simpler and we weren't so "connected" electronically.

When we lived in Glendale, AZ, we never made that particular trip going "northward" though the strip but many friends spoke about that.....However, Previous to our "Glendale Days," we lived in las Vegas and we made a couple of trips over to Zion and Bryce....and Grand canyon, of course. ...Easier from there LOL....

This is a wonderful composition, Steve - I love it....I am now catching up on all that I missed of your great images....sorry I missed so many but it is a treat to see them ;-)
