Farewell Hoodoos

Posted by Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 6 October 2018 in Landscape & Rural.

This ends our visit to Devil's Garden. There is much more to be seen in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. There are some slot canyons and lots of rugged wilderness. However, the current administration, in Washington, D.C., has chosen to reduce the national monument by half to open it up to oil exploration.

That decision doesn’t bode well for the hoodoos. The process of exploration probably disrupts natural features.
