Grinding the Stumps

Posted by
Steve Rice (Olympia, United States) on 13 January 2020 in Business & Industry.

The blade spins and reduces a stump to fluffy wood chips in short order. The operator sweeps the blade back and forth across the side of the stump hydraulically. Here, the operator had just cut the stump a bit lower, with a chainsaw, and was trying to nudge the piece out of the way. Before grinding, he put up a sheet of plywood to protect from the possibility of thrown rocks or other projectiles.

We follow with interest all the stages of the felling of a tree and what is done with its branches and trunk. It is very interesting
